Antique Japanese bowl with fish motif, 19th century
Antique Japanese bowl with fish motif, 19th century
The large decorative bowl is inspired by the traditional Japanese Imari style, featuring hand-painted motifs of fish and the aquatic world. The paintings are applied not only in the center but also on the exterior of the bowl. Green glass is cast into the center of the bowl. We found this piece in Italy, yet it clearly references the aesthetics of the Far East.
The bowl has been repaired and can be used as a standalone decorative object or as a fruit bowl, though we do not recommend placing heavy items in it. It is discounted for this reason, and the price reflects its condition. We recommend coming to see it in person.
